In medieval times there wasn't really a lot to do for entertainment. Peasants and serfs just worked on the land for "fun". Their children had few toys to play with. Also the peasant women sewed, when they weren't working. Sometimes if the peasant men were lucky they could go hunting, but they really didn't have any skills. Some people held banquets and feast. Also they had animal entertainment.
Nobles listened to music, played board games, and watched jesters play jokes. They liked to play chess a lot. Noblemen sewed clothing, scarfs, etc. The noble children had plenty of toys but they spent most of their time away learning manors. The girls went off to a castle to learn to become a lady. The boys went off to a school that taught them knight skills. Knights jousted and played in tournaments. Kings also watched jesters and played board games and listened to music.
