In medieval times, and still today, peoples clothing showed their wealth. Every group dressed differently and their clothing was made from different material. Knight just wore armor. Under it they had padding. They wore helmets and carried a sword in their side padding. this was very uncomfortable. It was very heavy. They had a belt that carried all their weapons. Such as; mace, gadling, and roundel (a special sword.) They also wore chain mail. A heavy link of chains.
Nobles clothing was made from silk and velvet. Men wore long tunics and tights. Women wore dresses. They both wore cloaks for shoes. Their children basically dressed the same. Peasants because their poor their clothes were made from rough wool and lien. Men wore tunics and long stockings made from wool. If they were lucky some peasants had under wear that were washed regularly. Nobles wore brown, red, and grey. In winter they had mittens and hats. They wore cloaks made of sheep's fur.
